Won't You Dance with Me?

Do you ever have those times when everything feels out of whack? No matter what you do, you can't seem to catch up. If I sit down at my desk and put some time into emails, blogging, writing, and admin, I feel I'm neglecting the real world. If I take phone calls or go to meetings and events, the computer throws a hissy fit. And that's just work--never mind having a personal life!

I know we all feel this strain--I know because I've talked with colleagues about it, and I've talked with readers about it on Twitter and in person. It's not always easy to stay upbeat while wrapped up in the footwork of this tricky dance. I'm so grateful that you all visit me here and share in what I find special and valuable. So thanks for that, friends. xo

Well said. Even with a tiny blog this can get overwhelming. I can't imagine what it's like for a true web-trepreneur like yourself! I say, schedule some regular "unplugged" time and turn off the guilt center of your brain. Seizing time for off-web activities--whether business or personal--is just as much of an investment in your career as monitoring social media, email, and blog analytics. Keep your soul fed, Anne! I feel ya, Anne. So hard to find a sense of balance- I feel like I'm always trying to catch up! Lately I've been trying to be more present wherever I'm at, to give myself more breaks (from the day & by not being so hard on myself) and let myself feel like a pile of lazy poop somedays, if that's how I really feel.
