Don't ask me to pick a favorite piece from the latest issue of Rue; it's like asking a mother to choose her favorite child. But I do want to share with you some extras from one that bowls me over every time I look at the photos--because every child deserves to have maximum attention lavished upon it! The Skill Swap Jamboree (pg. 60) captivates me with its colors, its concept, its creativity.
The idea sprung from the minds of Miya (left) and Elisabeth (right), the incredibly talented and innovative duo behind YOU + ME Lifestylists. If you're looking for a smart and savvy team to come up with some killer baby shower ideas, pull props for a family portrait session, even style a portfolio shoot for a small business. And the best news? They're now doing weddings--so look out brides!
Of course they couldn't have done it alone! The crew of amazing Jamboree guests was a 'who's who' of imaginative friends and colleagues: everyone from florists Poppies and Posies to the photographer Karen Wise came out to teach mini-lessons that included making a boutonniere, brewing the perfect cup of tea, and crafting a pop-up valentine.
And last but certainly not least? Floral arrangements from Blossom and Branch nearly stole the show with their rainbow order perfection, and master-shooter Trent Bailey Photography captured every moment and details with the utmost love and care. I'm so grateful to this dream team for making such magic and letting us showcase their work in Rue!

I hate to pick favorites either, but this is such a wonderful idea - loved this feature in Rue. I want to host a skill swap party with my girlfriends!

LOVE the color. So fun in the middle of winter even though we do live in sunny California. Looking forward to meeting you at the designers blogging conference in LA!

Love this table!! I am definitely recreating this for my next dinner party. Such a fresh and colorful surprise instead of one bunch of flowers in the middle of a table. love it!

I agree, those floral arrangements almost single handedly stole the show. Stunning.
