Remember when you were a kid and people asked you what your favorite color was? My go-to was purple. I had the purple backpack, the purple Trapper Keeper, even purple walls--much to my mother's chagrin. And while I now have a bevy of top hues, I still like to keep purple in the mix. Because let's face it--sometimes the situation calls for a little drama and no other color will do!
The range of purples is delicious and delightful; from palest lavender to deepest plum, shimmering amethyst to juicy grape, even the most innocent variations on this shade has an underlying moodiness. Not as girly as pink, it still offers a sultry femininity. But when done right it can be enjoyed by even the manliest of men (Huz has an awesome cashmere sweater in aubergine.)
Inject some purple into your life--no major commitment required. Bring home a bouquet of African violets. Pick up a couple throw cushions; I adore my Thomas Paul 'Sarah' pillow in 'beet'. Or go for a mani-pedi in my current fave: Do You Lilac It? Well, do you?

this is so strange and awesome because only the other day did i FINALLY decide that my favorite color is purple!
my favorite color has always changed over the years, and at one time it was purple. but for a long time now it's been green. then i started thinking, i really only say green is my favorite out of habit. so then i started seriously thinking what my favorite is and thought: you know what? it might be considered a girly color, but i love purple! especially the deep hues, like eggplant. and pretty much every hue in the first group of images you've posted!
you've made my day! and you've only reinforced that yes, purple IS my favorite color!

I have to say that it is one of my least favourite colours but just sometimes i see a picture that makes me really want to like it, usually in the purple aubergine category!

Actually i have a Cadbury's purple dress i LOVE LOVE and shoes to match. So i lie.

Aah, the power of plum, and the vibrant view of violet.
This is the color of the walls in the room with the T.V. on that is open to the kitchen. It has managed to keep us all grounded, our heads in the game.
