I might not agree with all of Reese Witherspoon's decisions--for example once I get Jake Gyllenhaal in my clutches I'll never let him go--but when it comes to fashion the gal can do no wrong. Adeptly blending casual California style with the feminine polish of her native Southern roots, Reese's ensembles invite you in while quietly reminding you that yes, she's a major star.
Reese keeps her accessories to a minimum, focusing instead on that all-important trifecta of purse, shoes and sunglasses. From cross-body bags, ballet flats and aviators to slouchy doctor's satchels, gladiator sandals and wayfarers, her unfussy approach puts the focus on radiant skin, silky hair, and stand-out investment pieces. Truly a girl after my own heart.
Key components include full skirts and dresses in fun patterns, jean jackets and cardigans for layering, fabulous flats and paparazzi-proof hats. Wear jewelry sparingly; a classic watch and delicate necklace will do just fine. Plus I'll bet Reese actually wears her own perfume--lush and heady, it transports me to my childhood in Athens, Georgia. Reese, we have so much in common!
P.S. Two sales Reese would surely change her schedule for: Son of John has marked their iconic sequin-pocket tees down to $20 at their sample sale! For lucky New Yorkers only at 270 West 38th Street, Suite 704. And everyone can shop Rikshaw Design's online sale; can't you see Reese beach-side in this?Image Credits: People.com. Shopping Guide: Dress, Bracelet, Sunglasses, Purse, Hat, Jacket, Jeans, Cardigan, Skirt, Necklace, Perfume, Watch, Flats.
Love her style--love her in general. Am so glad you are doing posts like this.

I tend to take Reese's style for granted, but this collection of shots has serious wow factor. And yes, I think Reese would look fab in that Turka. (I just bought this one the other day and can't wait till it comes: http://www.rikshawdesign.com/womens/ak-108.html)
(Elissa - that dress looks a bit like this Built by Wendy, don't you think? http://www.builtbywendy.com/onlineshop/cart.php?target=product&product_id=17499&category_id=359)

Seriously the girl can do no wrong when it comes to fashion! She always looks effortless and chic.
Then again, I do agree with you about the Jake Gyllenhaal thing!

Yes I agree. She has a fresh and effortless style that seems to come naturally. She never seems 'styled' which is nice and refreshing in a world that sadly puts so much pressure on 'stars' and celebrities.

P.S. Spoke to the owner at the VR and we are so excited that you are coming to Sydney. I'll take you there for tea or dinner. Which ever you prefer. Will be so much fun to meet you. x

I loved Reese in The Man in the Moon and wished she'd make it big. I like to think I had some part in her stardom.

Wonderful article. On a very talented young lady. In addition, she found her own style.
My mother, use to say," she/he has "it" as people, were walking into mother's dinner
party. At seven year's young at ask my mother,
"what does it mean?" she told me one day no
doubt you will know." At age 12 ... Once again, at a dinner party in our home...I said, "mother, having it is the way one speaks... Politely, it's truly about having good taste and most important... Is dressing to please yourself... That is having 'IT!' Reese, indeed has "IT!" -:) ox, m
