One of the most wonderful things about starting Rue Magazine--and believe me there are many wonderful things--is the amazing number of incredibly talented people we've had the great honor of meeting. Today I came across the portfolio of Teri Lyn Fisher, and let me tell you: when her site loaded on my screen it was like someone opened the windows and let the sunshine in!
Feast your eyes on Teri's incredible airy, buoyant style! It's as if she goes into a space with a butterfly net and chases down every last ounce of light to be had, then captures it all with her camera. Flowers radiate with joy, their petals trembling in ecstasy; a sofa seems to be the comfiest nap spot you've ever seen; pillows on the floor don't look like your husband left them there.
And can you believe these blues? Teri's got me convinced to sell all the stock in my (nonexistent) portfolio and invest all my (nonexistent) money in blue. Turquoise jumps and leaps, cobalt dances the mambo, aquamarine shoves you from the top of a waterfall and into the sparkling lagoon below.
But impossibly even cooler? Teri also cooks. She made the pie and the oatmeal sandwich cookies above. And she documents her lipsmackingly good recipes on her blog, Fish Food. Because in my book, the only thing more better than a great chef and a great photographer is finding them in the same person--after all, someone's gotta bring snacks to the photo shoot ;)
