Welcome! If you're landing here for Blog it Forward, I'm very happy to have you! I feel especially lucky to share what inspires me today, the first of March, because frankly nothing gets me going more than the new beginnings of Spring!
Here in San Francisco, Spring is definitely trying to gain a foothold. The flowering trees have been in bloom, and heavy rains have reminded us how important the wet season is for preventing drought come summer. And of course I always love an excuse for cheerful rainboots and umbrellas!
Of course March inspires many of us to do some spring cleaning. What's on your tidy-up to-do list? At my house, it's time to call the pro carpet steamers---though how much cooler would it be rip up the wall-to-wall and reveal the wood floors I can hear squeaking beneath? Sigh...
This spring I'm also feeling inspired to cross off some of the projects I've been itching to complete. I absolutely must frame and hang some of my prints and photos. Our bare walls are starting to drive me nuts, and I turn green with envy when I see gallery walls like the one above!
I've been talking for months about my bedroom re-do, and it's time to put my money where my mouth is. Since the perfect headboard has yet appear, I'm either going to cover my own or eschew a headboard altogether in favor of this curtained set-up. What do you think?
Though I hope this March won't be all hustle and bustle---let's all make a point to take some quiet time, shall we? The early days of Spring can be a quiet, reflective time, one in which we pause to appreciate the longer daylight hours and resulting increase in positive energy.
March is also a time when early signs of nature's bounty begin to appear in our grocery stores. Even in California, where we are lucky to have quality produce year-round, the berries taste a little sweeter. Plus don't forget those special seasonal treats like rhubarb (drool!).
So tell me: Does springtime inspire you? What do you love about March, and what in particular do you anticipate for the month ahead?
P.S. Also inspiring me lately: pink and purple, his 'n' hers dressing, and my golden home country!

We too need to frame works picked up in the Middle East sooner than later. However, March is looking like the month in which hubby and I clean home to move to a larger space in NYC.
Alsoon agenda, to shop more green markets in Mahattan for our produce. Union square is always a bustling one!

I hear you on the blank walls AND headboard thing. I need to just put my mind to it and get our walls some personality. I'd love to do a wall with a bunch of frames/pictures prints that I see on all the blogs. I just worry if it will turn out as well. I am still on the search for the perfect and affordable headboard. I'm also considering the diy route.

I love the cool, clear, and sunny Spring weather we get in California (Southern, in my case). And all the hills are green and yellow with mustard flowers. So beautiful and inspiring.

Great post - I'm so glad Victoria put together Blog it Forward.
I always love the first signs of Spring - a little rain but some sun and budding blossoms. Perfect. I'm definitely inspired to do some major redoing/redecorating/rethinking. That 4th picture down made my knees week. Exactly the look/ feel I love so much.

I loved all of these images, but none quite as much as the first and last. Those flowers ARE Spring, in nature's perfect package. Perhaps I should resolve to have fresh flowers in the house at all times. How decadent, but good for the soul I suspect.
