The January Anthropologie mailer is my favorite in a long while. Not only do I adore the model's cutie-patootie haircut, but come January I long for warm, exotic, and cultured locales---so the catalogue's European setting offers the perfect escape!
A mating of the unexpected: a safari skirt looks extra rugged juxtaposed against a ruffled blouse. Get the same effect by placing an ornate bench in an earthy entryway. Of course it helps to know that the Mediterranean is just outside your door...
Soft robin's egg blue projects a feminine air when teamed up with golden taupe. This sensibility can easily feel over-the-top; but in small doses like a strapless sundress or a miniscule powder room, it's sweetness personified!
Okay, this pairing defies intellectual reason, but it feels so right. You can't get more iconic than a classic khaki blazer and dark slim jeans--and the clean, graceful lines of an art deco armoire against a white wall just make sense. A playful scarf or a silhouetted branch adds a whimsical touch.
Color and pattern and shape, oh my! An outfit made for strolling the piazza demands a room designed for equally casual and sunny affairs. Haggle with the farmer at the market stall, then return home to eat fresh fruit from vibrant terra cotta bowls. Che bello!
I've saved my favorite for last. This is the outfit I'd be most likely to wear; I love the contrast of a boyish tank with an artfully constructed skirt, and you can't go wrong with stripes! In the bedroom, the masculine flair of the linens is offset by the ladylike objets on the nightstand. And is it just me or is that bread she's carrying making you hungry...?

Love the post! This is my favorite catalog from them in a long time too. I went into the store just to see the floating forsythia dress on page 8 in person. Beautiful patterns this season.
