With the news that Glee is going on hiatus until April, I need a little something to distract me from the long, cold Finn-less winter ahead. So how about some Outfit to Room with a holiday twist? From jewel-tones to sequins, a little sparkle never fails to cheer. And not to be immodest, but the above pairing is my favourite that I've ever done. I can't stop looking at it!
Shades of midnight blue and aqua are an unexpected combination, yet they feel strangely traditional when teamed with metallic antique silver. The result is a moody, romantic Victorian vibe.
Orange is another color you don't hear much from this time of year. But if we rename it persimmon, it's right in step with the tempting pyramids of that fruit on display in stores right now. It feels both fresh and festive contrasted with gilt and glass accents.
I never thought I'd want to wear velvet again after that seventh grade school photo debacle, but this year's offerings have me reconsidering that formerly maligned textile. A simple shift in sugared raspberry sounds right up my alley--though I would happily settle for sipping eggnog in an armchair of the same hue.
It's been awhile since I had any holiday gatherings at my place, but if I did play hostess I'd choose an outfit exactly like this one. A stylish jacket and cropped pants set a merry mood while you race around the kitchen. And if I could offer my guests a spread this magnificent, then all the better!
Here in San Francisco there might not be any snow, but an all-white interior is a more-than-adequate alternative. Towering ceilings and museum-worthy moldings offset the wintry glimmer of candles, and a pop of magenta provides a rosy glow.
Of course you don't have to be bright and bold to get noticed under the mistletoe; a soft wash of grey and gold will do nicely too. Quite frankly this is my kind of holiday dressing--it reminds me of Christmases spent all day in my pajamas, lounging under the tree amongst my hauls of loot. Oh to be a kid again!
P.S. Don't forget to enter this week's giveaway to win a Lauren Moffatt jacket!

So many things to want in this post; the exact same wall color in room #2, persimmon dress and of course the settee in the final room. Love them!

OMG I love this post! I am SO digging that moody Victorian vibe. Who knew midnight blue and aqua go so well together?

That Victorian aqua and midnight blue are making me feel all dreamy right now. Not good since I only got 4 1/2 hours of sleep last night!

Brilliant! You're right, the first is just divine. They all are so clever, but it's something about the hues glow in #1 that just sets it apart.
~Bravo~

Love the first and last pairings so much! Gorgeous!!!!

wow, I don't know how you did it, but each pair really fits together as well as hot chocolate and days like these. I once owned a velvet jacket in middle school that was quite tragic. so happy velvet has evolved.

I've said it before, but I'll say it again: you're ridiculously good at these pairings! I can't even imagine the time it must take to scour photos to find the best matches! The first and last ones are my favorites of this set. (Really, though, it's hard to choose!)
And this line about changing "orange" to "persimmon" made me giggle.

Wednesday is going to be a barren wasteland of sadness without Glee!
Hmph.
But these rooms and outfits *are* pretty, so that assuages the pain a little.

I just realized I'll still be typing next week if I keep talking about the great stuff we've gotten, so I'm going to list it!

Still, despite this the Raptors would do themselves a favor by being proactive in improving the roster instead of giving other teams an opportunity to grab the best free-agent/trade targets. There are a number of possible trades for Toronto, but there are few which really stood out to me.
