I remember my first pair of super expensive jeans. They seemed to cost a fortune at the time--and prices have only gone up since then. Recession Denim to the rescue! I recently spoke with the label's designer and founder Daniella Siri, who described her desire 'to offer women of all ages classic and fashion-forward jeans that have a phenomenal fit, all without the premium price tag." A perfect pair of dark, straight jeans that don't break the bank? Hallelujah! That means I can splurge on a tank, blazer, flats and jewels, and still have enough for my dream bag!
Not only does the name of the label crack me up (cheeky, right?) but I love the great mix of basic and trendy styles. Says Daniella, "I insist on having something for every woman and our many moods." She especially likes the MOTO jeans paired with a great tee and lace-ups. Throw in an avant-garde vest, a chunky necklace and cuff, studded gloves and a slick bag, and you're good to go!
Daniella recently started incorporating other denim items into the line as well, and I can't get enough of this comfy looking dress. Slip it on for a road trip to the country--a checked jacket and rugged boots are a must! Without internet access you'll need something to do--stuff your latest knitting project into a versatile tote. I love the look of mixed plaids, so toss in a tartan scarf, and bring a little piece of the city with some sporty sunglasses and a fierce leather bracelet.
What to wear with this mini? Says Daniella, "I've been leaning towards chunky cashmere sweaters, which can be worn with most styles of denim." A striped tee and chukka boots complete an outfit just right for a day of early holiday shopping. Don't forget fuzzy earmuffs and gloves to stay warm, a casual canvas sack to carry your purchases, and a watch to keep track of the time. But the best thing about this skirt? A forgiving waistline--so go ahead and order that mocha with whipped cream!
Thanks so much to Daniella for chatting with me about Recession Denim--now let the denim frenzy begin!

I love these pairings! especially the grey tee and the canvas sack. gorgeous!

I wrote about this brand (and the connection to big brand R&R, too!), and I am just itching to try them out.
Thanks for the outfit ideas!
Love,

What goes up must go down...and vice versa...so I'll be interested to see what happens to the name when the economy goes back up! It's like 20th Century Fox...we were all in suspense waiting to see what they'd do with that!

I am loving the pieces in the first two groupings! I would seriously wear everything... though the studded gloves might be a stretch :)

That's a bunch of lovely looks, Anne and Daniella. {And I'll be looking for a pair of those ear muffs...}

Love the name - when I first saw the title I was thinking it was a post on re-using/ recycled jeans :)
Love the top two pairs - and the secod grey tank - so fun and playful with ruffles at the back!

It's funny--I've found so much designer denim at the thrift store that I haven't felt compelled to splurge lately. These are super cute, tho!

Super love that bag and blazer in the top mix. Very cool. I was thinking that it would be easy to make that purse out of fabric instead of leather like material. I might have to try it one day...when i get free time (free time? what is THAT?).

I liked the title. Quite Lovely name. All the accessories as well as clothes are looking awesome in the picture. I would go with the 3rd one.
