About this time of year, when summer is miles behind us and the winter holidays remain a distant promise, I start to long for a break. Nothing extravagant, nothing overblown: just a good solid week of lounging about the house in my jammies, having sleeps on the couch, and ordering take-out every night. Is that so much for a girl to ask?
Of course even a staycation requires proper attire! A lacey romper is a big step up from my ragged sweats, and a soft cardigan is de rigeur. Accessories like legwarmers, a striped scarf, and sheepskin slippers keep the mood cozy, while a beaded necklace and flower hair pin inject a little boudoir glamour. Pamper yourself with some seriously indulgent bath goodies, then paint your nails in my new favorite shade. How awesome does that sound?

Love those leg warmers! They look like oldfashioned boots, but so much cozier. love and want! And I really like that knit sweater. I'm really into sweaters this year. You can never get enough of them in the fall/winter!

I have quite a few of those Laura Mercier products and they are divine! A shop assistant in Selfridges actually asked me what I was wearing, it was her creme brulee body cream. (A bit of a worry that I had slapped too much on, because it was the end of the day! But it is so delicious.

loving those betsy johnson leg warmers, i'm so happy those have come back into vogue, i quietly never stopped thinking they were all that :) i have a warm grey pair that i love. i too am having inclinations to hunker in and hibernate a bit, it's good for the soul.
