Turmeric: One of nature's most powerful healers, turmeric helps guard against everything from colds and infections to cancer and depression. And a little of this dramatic yellow hue in your home is sure to brighten even the gloomiest of days. Add just a pinch with a pillow or take a triple dose and paint an entire wall!
Pomegranate: You can't go anywhere these days without hearing about the health benefits of pomegranate; its tiny seeds are packed with nutrients that reduce the risk of arthritis and diabetes and help your skin maintain a youthful glow. Plus this deep pinky-red gives a powerful burst of energy to both traditional and modern interiors!
Oatmeal: Not only has this grain been proven to help lower levels of LDL cholesterol (the 'bad cholesterol'!), there are few things more comforting on a cold day than a bowl of hot oatmeal! Spaces that feature this creamy hue have the same soothing effect; let the layered tones ensconce you in warmth!
Avocado: Often avoided because they are high in fat, avocados are actually one of the best sources of vitamin E--plus their fats are all the 'good' kind. So don't avoid their unique and subtle green hue, either. It's surprisingly stylish and can even act as a neutral. Anyone else hungry now?

Just lovely, Anne! I think the turmeric is my fave (yellow, again!) with pomegranate as a close second! That grey staircase with the pomegranate runner is divine!

These photos are so inspiring! I want to inhabit all of these spaces! My space now is very transitory but someday I will hopefully have a place that is as nice as these examples!

I am in love with this post. You are so clever, relating the benefits of food to color, and color to design - Genius! The designs in these photos are absolutely charming.
Thanks!

Great idea. I bet one could do a lot also with an eggplant color scheme... that is an interesting color. Or orange.

Wow, the tumeric is gorgeous in every one of those pictures. I have been looking for a color that would mesh well with my house and it seems as if I found it! and I agree with memory foam, eggplant could work wonders...
