Seriously? Some of these suggestions are truly whacked out. Would I really want to work for any company that practiced these? I'd be afraid they'd be taping my trips to the copy machine or watching the way I hang up my coat in order to determine my next annual raise. No thanks!
I once had a company that wanted to hire me. I met with the CEO and he told me that they wanted me to come on board. But he suggested that I would need to change my vocabulary. I could no longer call retailers "the trade" (which is the generally accepted term in the industry, BTW.) I would have to call them "partners", "suppliers", or some other synonym -- I can't recall what it was exactly. But I remember thinking, "This is weird. If he's going to be such a stickler on something minor like this, what will he be like on the big issues?" This wasn't the only reason I passed on the josafdb, but it sure was one of several warning signs that made me decline the opportunity.

Thank you Beth! Our goal is to complete an entire novel, I guess you could say the tidbits we are posting are excerpts. I am mostly interested in people's opinions,critiques about our posts right now, kind of testing the waters with our ideas and learning.
