Yesterday's Swimsuit to Room post and the upcoming holiday weekend have got me thinking about that most vexing of apparel categories: bathing suits. So I indulged in a little online window shopping--much nicer than the sight of my wobbly bits under those fluorescent dressing room lights!
Folds and ruching are stylish and figure friendly--that extra material works wonders to suck in any stray parts. Jewel tones like garnet, tourmaline, and sapphire look extra classy, especially when paired with platform wedges and cat eye sunglasses.
For the bolder gals amongst us, glitzy details say 'Victoria Beckham's got nothing on me.' Stick with solid neutrals such as chocolate, ivory and black, and keep trim subtle. Then go all out with fab slides and statement sunnies.
Florals are lots of fun; a mosaic print, a fern pattern, or a classic Missoni flame put a grown-up graphic spin on the trend. And who can resist a playful surprise like flowers on insoles or oversized shades?
Handcrafted touches--flowers, beaded trim or sunbursts--are smokin' hot on buff hued suits. Turquoise sandals and reissued RayBan Clubmasters complete the look for a vibe that's more Sumer of Luxe than Summer of Love!
Tell me: What's your swimsuit style this summer?

I love that there are so many great one pieces out this year. I picked up a flirty retro one at ModCloth and I love it.

You have such amazing posts :) My favorite being the ruched retro story. It's so girly and feminine...and I really want that one-piece on the far left! Hope you are having a lovely day~

I love buying new bathing suits, which is funny because I rarely end up using them. We are going to spend a week at a lake house next month, so I'm hoping to use all my suits to the max. I just bought this> http://tinyurl.com/nxze2l

The Ubaid period is marked by a distinctive style of fine quality painted pottery which spread throughout Mesopotamia and the Persian Gulf. During this time, the first settlement in southern Mesopotamia was established at Eridu, ca. 5300 BC, by farmers who brought with them the Samarran culture from northern Mesopotamia. It is not known whether or not these were the actual Sumerians who are identified with the later Uruk culture. Eridu remained an important religious center when it was gradually surpassed in size by the nearby city of Uruk.
