I have always been captivated by the history of the American West. From the courage of the pioneers to the adventures of a vast, uncharted territory, we can all take inspiration from the legends of exploration and endurance.
Presenting those legends in all their real-world glory: the honeyed hues of the fields, the blues of a sky that stretches farther than the eye can see. The romance in a scrap of lace, the freedom in a picnic on the plains. The stories of the generations told by a plank of weathered wood.
To all my American readers, happy Independence Day. And to everyone, have a wonderful weekend!

This is a gorgeous collage! I've read Mary O'Hara's trilogy about Flicka plus was a big fan of the indians when I was a kid, so I've always wanted to see this part of America - where also lots of Norwegians emigrated to in the 19th century.
Have a great 4. July!
Greetings from Norway

Happy 4th, Anne.
I love this post. It is so you.
It conveys the message of what our country is all about without being so obviously "red white and bluey"

OoooOooo these are my favorite colors - my home is dripping in them. The sunbleached sages, the honey golds - wood aged by time and the elements... Love, love, love them. What a gorgeous board. I'm going to save it, if you don't mind.
Happy weekend!

Love! One of my favourite things about driving to Dallas is a country road I take to avoid the main highway. There are so many farms and ranches on that road - and TONS of those round bales of hay. They make me happy.
