Depression Florals: No, I certainly don't want a repeat of Grapes-of-Wrath-dust-bowl living, but there's something about the humble simplicity of these faded florals that makes me want to hunker down with a plate of biscuits and gravy. Mmm, gravy.
Giant Studio Pendants: A touch of industrial edge adds an unexpected twist to a variety of styles, from charming cottage to sleek modernism. Lighting like this is a not-too-expensive way to get the look.
Pistachio Walls: From palest gelato to Baskin Robbins bold, a pistachio hue makes me want to drop everything and get a double decker cone. Either that or slather the walls with my perfect pistachio paint, a 50% formula of Benjamin Moore Gray Lake (discovered after much trial and error, believe you me!).
Amateurish Portraits: A little cartoonish, a little ironic, these portraits don't take themselves too seriously. I'm itching to buy some blank canvases and do paintings of my whole family, Royal Tenenbaums style.
Opulent Chandeliers + Spare Modern Tables: I'm all about juxtaposing two contrasting elements to highlight the unique personalities of both, and this partnership is the perfect example of why. Don't the chandeliers look just a bit more smashing, the tables just a bit more cool, when paired together like this?

It would be easy for me to just say "me too, i love all of these" because it's true. Chandeliers are my favorite thing ever. And where I can't have a chandelier, I'll take a giant pendant. They look especially fresh in that kind of rustic space. I've also been working on family portraits (my dogs, that is) forever. Hoping to finish those up some time in the near future. :)

Oh, I've always loved but been afraid of buying opulent chandeliers because I thought it would be too expensive (and too too) to style the whole room around it. But you just totally let me off the hook. They look great with anything!

I have never been so into florals as I have recently... I don't get it! What used to come off as fussy and grandmotherly to me is suddenly so perfect. That first grouping of pics left me wanting more. Thanks, Anne!

An 88-year-old gunman with a violent and virulently anti-Semitic past opened fire with a rifle inside the crowded U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum on Wednesday, fatally wounding a security guard before being shot himself by other officers, authorities said.
The assailant was hospitalized in critical condition, leaving behind a sprawadfling investigation by federal and local law enforcement and expressions of shock from the Israeli government and a prominent Muslim organization.
