GlamOrganic: Not a Real Word (Until Now)!

So to continue a theme...I know I posted on Friday and Monday about Modern Organic, one of my favourite (if loosely defined) decorating styles. But I feel like I need to make an important distinction about another style that appeals to me, one that I've been seeing a lot of lately and that I can't get enough of. A style that I'm calling---for lack of a better word---GlamOrganic.

The shapes and lines are more vintage traditional than in Modern Organic...

But the focus remains on natural, salt-of-the-earth materials...

Never slick or flashy, GlamOrganic has an air of bleached and faded glory---an aura of shabby pride about it...

Earthy textures still play an important role, but they're more sumptuous too; think plush velvets and rough-hewn linens...

The must-have accessory? A chandelier...

The bedroom takes center stage in GlamOrganic...

After all, the bed is the seat of all things sensual and luxurious...

Colour may be applied a touch more liberally in GlamOrganic than in Modern Organic...

But the palette always returns to quiet, tone-on-tone dignity...

Until night falls, that is, and the haunted shadows of times past come out to play...

Am I nuts, or is there something to this? What do you think?

These are all so wonderful. There's something about a neutral color palate, clean lines, carefully chosen accessories, and lots of texture that really calms and soothes.

And I love the convex mirrors! I have one in my house but I always want more :)

I love this term you've coined! It's spot on and totally my taste, as you suggested. Sorry it took me so long to make my way over here.
