I recently scored this nifty chair from my grandmother's garage. The frame of it is lovely---very chic Parisian salon---but the upholstery says Delta Airlines circa 1989. So I'm scheming about how to refinish it...
I love this pink zigzag print from Rubie Green, and knowing that it's 100% organic cotton would make the chair extra comfy. The print is called "East Village", and the dyes are all water-based and non-toxic too.
Speaking of pink, the Savoir chair from Crate and Barrel comes in sumptuous raspberry velvet. I can totally see my chair finished in something similar. Maybe I'd even throw in some brass nailheads as well.
I've adored this Sophie Chair in zebra print cow hide since I saw it a while back at Calypso Home in Nolita. I know that zebra is the new coral---overused and a total decorating cliche---but it's so fun and funky, and a great way to bring pattern into a room while maintaining a neutral color scheme. And I do like the weathered white finish on the wood.

Finally, the Unniko print from Marimekko is a classic, and here it is reinterpreted in soft beiges and mouse greys. I'd stain the arms and legs of the chair a glossy black and toss in a few brightly colored pillows to punch things up a bit.
But all that will have to wait...I'm picking up my maid of honour from the airport today and the wedding planning is kicking into high gear. I'll have lots of great wedding projects to share. Can't wait!
